5 Toys That Will Help Your Pet Trust You

Getting your pet to trust you is important. When your pet trusts you, it will make them more likely to follow your commands and more likely to protect you during an emergency.

Building trust with your dog can take a great deal of time and effort. Most dogs are not going to trust you right away, especially if the dog is older and has already been let down by humans in his or her lifetime.

Thankfully, there are different toys that are available for you to purchase that can help your pet trust you, and the following is an inside look at six of the best.

1. Busy Buddy Tug a Jug

Giving your dog treats and always ensuring that they’re fed is one of the best ways to get a dog to trust you. Some dogs are afraid of becoming malnourished, especially if they’ve been in that situation before. A great way to prove to your dog that you will always provide them with treats is to use the Busy Buddy Tug a Jug toy. As your dog moves the toy around and tugs on the rope, a small treat will be dispensed. You can easily play with this toy with your dog, and as they pull on the rope, they’ll receive a treat.

2. CatNip Cyclone

Cats love catnip, and if you provide your cat with a catnip toy, they will certainly come to trust you. Catnip makes cats feel good, and if you’re the one giving them catnip through toys like the CatNip Cyclone, they will certainly find you more appealing and trustworthy.

3. Skinneeez Stuffing Free Dog Toys

Most dogs love cuddling, and giving them a Skinneeez Stuffing Free Dog Toy can be a great way to build trust with your dog. Because your dog likes to cuddle, they may have a tendency to jump on your bed or your couch, and if you don’t want your dog on your furniture, saying “no” to them on a regular basis may make them feel unloved. However, if you buy them a Skinneeez Stuffing Free Dog Toy, they will have something nice and warm to cuddle with no matter where they are lying.

4. Nuts for Knots Dog Toy

Along with sleeping and eating, your dog also enjoys regular exercise and play, and there’s no better toy for exercise and play than a ball like Nuts for Knots. Playing fetch with your dog is a great way to build trust in your relationship. Your dog may be hesitant to run off away from you to get the ball after you throw it, but if you’re constantly there when they return with the ball, it will make them realize that you are not going anywhere and that you enjoy playing with them just as much as they enjoy playing with you.

5. Something They Love

This is very general, but there is a toy out there made specifically for your pet, but it all depends on their personality. For example, if your cat really likes anything that looks like a mouse, you’ll want to invest in some mouse-shaped toys, such as this generic Fuzzy Mouse. If your dog really likes chasing other animals, then you may want to buy them some dog-friendly stuffed animals, such as the goDog Bruto Dino with Chew Guard Technology. When you provide your pet with a toy that appeals to what they love, they will be more willing to trust you.
