Are you in the baking mood? I know my kitchen is making cookies like a crazed elf. When I am baking I like to make some treats for my pups too. Here is a delicious recipe for some holiday dog treats. They are so good you may want to make a batch for yourself!

Holiday Cutout Cookies for Dogs

  • 2 cups flour (whole wheat or all-purpose flour- all-purpose will make a brighter colored cookie)
  • 2 cups rolled oat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbs melted coconut oil
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla extract

Step1: Preheat oven to 350º F

Step 2: Mix all your ingredients together. Mix until your dough is no longer sticky and ready to roll out. You may want to use a stand mixer.

Step 3: If you want to make your dough a fun color, or many fun colors, divide the dough into as many colors as you want then add natural food color. Mix the dough until you achieve your desired color.

Step 3: Roll out cookies to about 1/4″ thick and use cookie cutters to cut into desired shapes.

Step 4: Bake for 8-11 minutes. Take cookies out when they are just turning golden.

You can refrigerate the dough for up to a week or freeze it for up to 3 months. If your dough gets too dry, just add a bit more coconut oil.
